|SOME NOTES ON MEDIEVAL ENGLISH GENEALOGY|
Volume 9, page 384:
John, Lord Mowbray, d. in 1368,(h) being slain by the Saracens.
Ch. Inq. p. m., 43 Edw. III, pt. 2, no 7. The date of his death is given variously in the inquisitions - 21 Sep., 9 Oct. His obit was kept 17 June (Sarum Missal, ut supra [ed. Wickham Legg], p.514).
On the whole the inquisitions also favour the date of 17 June. Of ten that give dates for his death, five say he died in June, compared with three saying September and two October. Of these five, three say that he died on the feast of St Botolph (17 June) and another says 18 June.
