Parties: Thomas de Chaucumbe and Amicia his wife, plaintiffs, Amicia represented by Thomas, for better or worse, and Maurice de Turevill', defendant, represented by William son of Robert, for better or worse.
Property: The manor of Lomer [in Exton] (Lammer), with appurtenances, which they claimed as Amicia's dower from the free tenement which was held by William de Turevill', formerly her husband, whence a plea was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: Maurice acknowledged and granted to Thomas and Amicia 1 hide, with appurtenances, from that land, viz. that which Maurice held of Geoffrey de Lammer. Moreover Maurice granted them the tenement which Aluric son of Richard Cole held, with Aluric and all his household; the tenement which Hugh, Aluric's brother held, together with Hugh and all his household; common pasture for 2 draught beasts (averia), 12 oxen, 4 cows, 200 sheep, and 30 pigs in that vill; Thomas and Amicia will hold the property and pasture for the lifetime of Amicia by way of dower. In return, Thomas and Amicia have remitted and quitclaimed to Maurice and his heirs all right they had in the remainder of the manor and appurtenances, by way of dower.

Parties: Henry de Kernet, plaintiff, and the abbot of Hide, defendant.
Property: The advowson of the church of Colemore (Colemer), whence an assize of last presentation was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: The abbot acknowledged that the advowson of the church of Colemore was Henry's by right, and remitted and quitclaimed it, for himself and his successors, to Henry and his heirs, in perpetuity. Henry, for the salvation of his soul, and those of his ancestors and successors, gave 16lbs wax to God and the church of St Peter of Hide and the monks serving God there, in pure and perpetual alms, to be paid each year on the vigil of the feast of Sts Peter and Paul from a hide of land which Henry holds in Redbridge (Redbrigge), viz. the hide called Hida Kernet. If Henry and his heirs fail to pay the wax at the said time, the abbot and his successors may distrain on chattels found on the said hide until the wax is fully paid. Henry and his heirs will provide warranty against all people to the church of St Peter, Hide, and the monks there, for payment of the wax, in perpetuity.

Agreement: William acknowledged that the advowson belonged by right to the prior and his church of Merton, and remitted and quitclaimed it for himself and his heirs to the prior and his successors and the church of Merton, in perpetuity. The prior received William and his heirs into all the future benefits and prayers of his church of Merton.

Property: A third of a carucate and 20s. rent, with appurtenances, in Standon' [in Hursley], which Alpes' claimed as dower from the free tenement held by her husband Geoffrey in that vill, whence a plea was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: Alpes' remitted and quitclaimed to Adam and Nichola and the heirs of Nichola all right she had in the said land and rent and appurtenances, by way of dower. In return Adam and Nichola gave Alpes' 4 marks.

Property: 1 and a half virgates, with appurtenances, in Barton [Stacey] (B'ton), whence the prior called Drogo de Fraivill' to warrant. Drogo came and provided warranty, wherefor wager of battle (duellum vadiatum et armatum) was between Richard and Drogo in that court.
Agreement: Richard remitted and quitclaimed, for himself and his heirs, to the prior and his successors and his church of Mottisfont and to Drogo and his heirs, all right he had in the 1 and a half virgates and appurtenances, in perpetuity. In return, the prior gave Richard 100s.

Parties: Matilda widow of John de Aula, plaintiff, and Ralph de Aula, defendant, who called Gilbert de Hattingel' to warrant.
Property: A third of 2 messuages, 60 acres and 2 acres of woodland, with appurtenances, in Bentworth (Bintewrth), which Matilda claimed against Gilbert by way of dower from the free tenement in that vill formerly held by her husband John, whence a plea was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: Matilda remitted and quitclaimed, to Ralph and his heirs, and to Gilbert and his heirs, all right she had in the 2 messuages, land, wood and appurtenances, by way of dower. In return, Ralph gave Matilda a messuage, 15 acres, and ?two thirds of an acre (half acre and a third part of half an acre) of wood, viz. 5 acres in Rammescumbe which abut on to the land of Gilbert de Hattingel', and 2 acres which abut on to the croft of Robert le Hare, and 2 acres in Haringesleg', and 4 acres adjoining the ditch, and 2 acres on Estmanedon', and two thirds of an acre of John le Hart's wood called the grove, and a messuage, with appurtenances, which Robert Hare held, with the villein holding that villeinage and all his household. Matilda will hold all the property for life of Ralph and his heirs, by way of dower.

Parties: Eustace de Grenvill, plaintiff, and William de Kingeston, defendant.
Property: One carucate, with appurtenances, in Buningewurth', whence a plea of warranty of charter was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: Eustace acknowledged that the carucate and appurtenances belonged by right to William and surrendered it to him in the court. In return, William granted Eustace 16 acres with appurtenances from the said land, viz. those acres called la Metland. Also William granted Eustace and his heirs common pasture for all their animals with his own and those of his heirs in Walemore within the following bounds: throughout the moor which extends from Eustace's house as far as the ditch which he had dug on the moor towards Kingston. Also William gave Eustace 35 acres, with appurtenances, in that vill, viz. all the land and appurtenances which Henry de la Forde held. Eustace and his heirs will hold the 16 acres, pasture and the 35 acres of William and his heirs, in perpetuity, paying 2d. annually within the octave of Michaelmas, at Kingston, for all service. William and his heirs will provide Eustace and his heirs with warranty for all the land, pasture and appurtenances, against all people. In return Eustace gave William 8 marks.

Parties: (a) Henry abbot of Bec, plaintiff, represented by Brother Ralph, prior of Ruislip (Risslep), win or lose, and Richard son of Henry de Stratfeld, defendant. (b) Henry, abbot of Bec, plaintiff, and Richard son of Henry de Stratfeld, whom Edith widow of Henry de Stratfeld called to warrant, and who provided warranty.
Property: (a) Two parts of a carucate, with appurtenances, in Gollard [in Amport] (La Golhord) and Wellop; (b) A third of a carucate, with appurtenances, in the same vills, whence a plea was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: Richard acknowledged that the whole carucate, with appurtenances, belonged, by right, to the abbot and his church of Bec. In return, the abbot granted Richard and Edith the whole carucate, and appurtenances, for them to hold, for both their lives, of the abbot and his successors, paying annually 60s. at two terms, viz. 30s. at the feast of St Martin before Christmas, and 30s. at Hockday, for all except as much forinsec service as pertains to that land. After the deaths of both Richard and Edith, all the land and appurtenances will revert to the abbot and his successors and the church of Bec, quit of [any claim from] the heirs of Richard, in perpetuity.

Property: One hide, with appurtenances, in Timsbury (Tymbresbir') and Compton whence a plea was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: Walter acknowledged that the hide and appurtenances belonged by right to the prior and his church of Mottisfont, and he remitted and quitclaimed them, for himself and his heirs, to the prior and his successors and the church of Mottisfont, in perpetuity. In return, the prior gave Walter 10 marks. This concord was made by concession of the King, in accordance with his writ as follows: Henry, by the Grace of God King of England etc. to his faithful [justice] Mathew de Pateshill, greetings. Be it known that we have granted to the prior of Mottisfont the concord made between Walter de Langford and the prior concerning 1 hide and appurtenances in Timsbury and Compton, which Walter claims against him in our court as pertaining to the serjeanty which he holds of us in chief. Therefore we order you to allow it to be carried out. Witness: the King, at Mortlake, 3 May 1227.

Parties: Henry Huse and Cecilia his wife, plaintiffs, Cecilia represented by Philip de Bremble, win or lose, and Rocelin de la Penne, whom Henry de la Penne called to warrant, and who came and provided warranty and represented Henry win or lose.
Property: Common pasture of Eling, whence a plea was summoned between them in the court for Henry to show by what warrant he held that pasture.
Agreement: Rocelin acknowledged that all the pasture was Cecilia's by right. In return, Henry and Cecilia granted Rocelin common pasture there, saving to Henry, Cecilia and the heirs of Cecilia, all the place called Parlesham, with wood and all appurtenances, and half the pasture of Segesford and Parlesham to the north, and 60 acres of land on the east and north of Aeceswude by perch of 16 and a half feet. Rocelin, for himself and his heirs, granted Henry, Cecilia and Cecilia's heirs the right to enclose, assart, exploit and turn into arable as much of Parlesham as they wished, without hindrance. Rocelin and his heirs will hold of Henry, Cecilia and her heirs, in perpetuity, paying annually 12d. at the Nativity of St John the Baptist. Moreover all Rocelin's villeins of Winsor (Windosoures) will plough land of Eling belonging to Henry, Cecilia and her heirs once a year for one day with as many ploughs as they have, or pay 3d. for each plough. If two men plough with each plough, they will have drink or 1d., and if they do not plough they will pay 3d. In future, neither Rocelin or his heirs, nor his men of Windesour', can take marl or turf in the said pasture, unless with the consent of Henry, Cecilia and her heirs. This concord was made in the presence, and with the consent, of Henry de la Penne.

He and his heirs will hold it of Robert and his heirs, in perpetuity, paying annually 12d. at two terms, viz. half at Michaelmas and the other half at Easter, for all service. In return, Hugh gave Robert 24s.

Agreement: Robert de Rotham remitted and quitclaimed, for himself and his heirs, to M. Robert de Hertfort and his successors and the church of Salisbury, in perpetuity, all right he had in that land and appurtenances. In return, M. Robert gave Robert de Rotham 4 marks.

Parties: Henry Huse and Cecilia his wife, plaintiffs, Cecilia represented by Philip de Brembel, for better or worse, and Reginald de Butestorne, defendant.
Property: Common pasture, in Eling, whence a plea was summoned between them in the court to show by what warrant Reginald held that pasture.
Agreement: Reginald acknowledged that all that pasture was Cecilia's by right. In return, Henry and Cecilia granted Reginald (rights of) common in all that pasture, saving to Henry, Cecilia and the heirs of Cecilia all the place called Parlesham, with wood and all other appurtenances, and half of all the pasture between Segesford and Parlesham towards the north, and 60 acres from the east and north of Fleteswude by perch of 16 and a half feet. Reginald, for himself and his heirs, so far as they were able, granted permission for Henry, Cecilia and her heirs to enclose, assart, exploit and convert to arable the said Parlesham, with appurtenances, pasture and land, at will and without hindrance from Reginald or his heirs. Reginald and his heirs will hold the pasture and woodland of Henry, Cecilia and her heirs, in perpetuity, paying annually 5s. at the Nativity of St John the Baptist. Moreover Reginald's villeins of Totton (Totinton), Bartley (Bertle), Testwood (Terstewude) and Hanger (Hangre) will plough the land of Henry, Cecilia and her heirs at Eling, once a year for one day with as many ploughs as they have , or 3d. will be paid for each plough. If 2 men plough with each plough, they will have drink or 1d., and if they do not plough, they will pay 3d. Neither Reginald, his heirs or his men of Totton, Bartley, Testwood and Hanger will, in future, take marl or turf in the said pasture except with the permission of Henry, Cecilia and her heirs.

Parties: (a) Thomas de Daccumbe, plaintiff, and Simon de Dauntr' and Joan his wife, defendants. (b) Thomas de Daccumbe, plaintiff, and Simon de Dauntr' and Joan his wife whom Thomas de Parco and Lucy his wife called to warrant and who provided warranty.
Property: (a) Two thirds of half a knight's fee, with appurtenances, in Alvington [in Carisbrooke] (Alwinton), Shide [in Whippingham] (Syde) and Hedenesham. (b) One third of half a knight's fee, with appurtenances, in the same vills, whence an assize of mort d'ancestor was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: Thomas acknowledged that all 3 parts of the half knight's fee, with appurtenances, were Joan's by right. In return, Simon and Joan granted Thomas 40s. worth of land from the said fee in Hedenesham and Fayrleg', viz. all the land and appurtenances which Robert Hardewin' and his brother Henry and William Paye held in Hedenesham, and all the land, with appurtenances, which William Rufus held in Fayrleg', and the service of Geoffrey de la Blakelande from the whole tenement which he held of Simon and Joan in Fayrleg', and the service of Hawis widow of Simon Molendinarius from the whole tenement she held of Simon and Joan in Fayrleg'. Thomas and his heirs will hold the property of Simon and Joan and the heirs of Joan, in perpetuity, for as much forinsec service as pertains to that land. Simon and Joan have also granted that if Joan dies without an heir of her body, all the said fee will revert to Thomas and his heirs as to the right heirs of Joan. Moreover Simon and Joan have given Thomas 15 marks.

Parties: Richard son of Aucher, plaintiff, and Hawise de Migeham, defendant.
Property: Common pasture of Bickton [in Fordingbridge] (Biketon'), concerning which Richard complained that Hawise unjustly exacted dues since he had no right of common in her land of Midgham [in Fordingbridge] (Migeham), and as she did him no service whereby she ought to have rights of common there, whence a plea was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: Hawise granted that Richard and his heirs should have all the close which he had made on the moor of Bickton on the north beyond the alder grove. In return, Richard granted Hawise and her heirs 7 acres, by perch of 16 feet, in that close nearest her land in the west, to be held of him and his heirs, in perpetuity, paying annually a pair of gloves or 1d. at Michaelmas, for all service. And be it known that Hawise, Alan de Wudefaude and his wife Margery, Walter de Brumore and his wife Clemencia, and Avicia de Midgeham, sisters of Hawise, and their heirs, will have rights of common throughout Richard's close with all their own animals from Midgham, except pigs, after corn and hay have been carried, and Richard and his heirs will similarly have rights of common throughout the aforesaid 7 acres with all their animals from Bickton, except pigs, after corn and hay have been carried. Moreover, Richard and his heirs have granted that Hawise, Alan, Margery, Walter, Clemencia and Avicia, partners of Hawise, and the heirs of Hawise, Margery, Clemencia and Avicia will have a suitable roadway through the middle of that close throughout the year for wagon and cart, and for their draught animals, and Hawise, Alan and Margery, Walter and Clemencia, and Avicia, for themselves and their heirs, have granted Richard and his heirs rights of common throughout the year for their animals from Bickton in their alder grove and in the moor of Midgham in Hawise's meadow next to the alder grove, after hay has been carried. Richard, for himself and his heirs granted Hawise, Alan and Margery, Walter and Clemencia and Avicia, and the heirs of Hawise, Margery, Clemencia and Avicia rights of common throughout the year in his alder grove of Bickton, and likewise Matilda, mother of Hawise will enjoy the same rights there, for life, by way of dower. This concord was made in the presence of and with the consent of Alan and Margery, Walter and Clemencia, and Avicia.

Parties: Walter, abbot of Hyde (Hida), plaintiff, and Gregory Pistor, defendant.
Property: Half an acre of meadow, with appurtenances, in la More, whence a plea was summoned between them in the court.
Agreement: The abbot remitted and quitclaimed, for himself, his successors and his church of Hyde, to Gregory and his heirs, in perpetuity, all right he had in the half acre of meadow and appurtenances. In return Gregory, for himself and his heirs, gave the abbot, his successors and his church of Hyde, in perpetuity, 4lbs. wax to be received each year at the Nativity of the Blessed Mary from the hand of Gregory and his heirs from 3 messuages in the street of Hyde which are between the house of John Lodeno and the house of Walter le Hose. Moreover Gregory, for himself and his heirs, granted the abbot and his successors a pathway 3ft. wide between Gregory's meadow and the stream of the moor (aqua de mora) so that the abbot and his successors will be able to have free entry and exit to and from their meadow which lies between Gregory's meadow and the city wall of Winchester. If at any time Gregory or his heir fail to pay the 4lbs wax, then the abbot and his successors may distrain on chattels in the said 3 messuages until the wax is fully paid.
