Grant by Geoffrey Michel of land in Gestingthorpe [Essex], 1375

I Geoffrey Michel of Gelham magna have granted to William Cook of Gestnyngthorp and Maud, his wife, one piece of land called Neyne acres, together with free ingress and egress by the way which the tenants of the capital messuage called Taillo[ur]s in Gestnyngthorp were accustomed to use. The land lies in the vill of Gestnyngthorp between the land of Neth[er]halle called Listapil on one side and the land of the tenement Taillo[ur]s called Neyne acres on the other and abuts at one head on the park of Hengh[a]m and at the other head on the land of Neth[er]halle called Shorte Croft. To hold to William Cook and Maud, his wife, their heirs and assigns, of the chief lords of the fee. I grant for me and my heirs that we will warrant against all men for ever. In witness whereof I have set my seal. Witnesses: Thomas Hugh, William Salman, Robert Warn[er], Robert ate P[ar]k, Robert Ede and others. Given at Gestnyngthorp 10 September, 49 Edward III [1375].
