He [Thomas (de Poynings), Lord Poynings (d. 1428/9)] m., ... 2ndly, before 24 Nov. 1399,(i) Philippe, da. of Edmund (MORTIMER), EARL OF MARCH, by Philippe, da. and h. of Lionel, DUKE OF CLARENCE, which first-named Philippe was relict of John (HASTINGES), EARL OF PEMBROKE (d. s.p. 1389), and widow of Richard (FITZALAN), EARL OF ARUNDEL (beheaded Sep. 1397).

Complete Peerage, vol. 1, p. 245, places the marriage of Thomas and Philippe after April 1398. Douglas Richardson, in November 2003, presented evidence that they were married by 6 December 1398 [citing M. D. Legge, Anglo-Norman Letters and Petitions (1941), pp. 69, 70].
