Parties: John Weylaund and Mary his wife querents, and Richard de Breuse and Alice his wife deforciants
Property: Manor of Clopton with appurtenances
Action: Plea of Warranty of Charter
Agreement: Richard and Alice have acknowledged the manor with appurtenances to be the right of John that which was given as a maritagium with Mary the daughter of said Richard and Alice. The same John and Mary and heirs procreated of their bodies are to have and hold said manor and appurtenances of said Richard and Alice and their heirs in impertuity. And if the said John and Mary die without heirs procreated of their bodies or die without an heir or heirs at that time, after the decease of both said John and Mary and their heirs the said manor shall revert to Richard and Alice and their heirs.
Warranty: Alice warrants quitclaims and defends John and Mary and their heirs concerning said manor with appurtenances as their free maritagium against all men.

Agreement: Alice has acknowledged the manor with appurtenances and the advowson and the homage and service of the free men and villeins that hold the village and their successors, meadows and pastures, rents, relief, estates and all other things pertaining to the manor to be the right of Richard. The same Richard and his heirs is to have and hold of the chief lord of that fee by service the said manor with appurtenances and advowson in perpetuity.
Warranty: Alice grants Richard and his heirs a warranty for the manor and advowson with appurtenances against all men in impertuity.
For this: Richard has given to the aforesaid Alice, a hundred marks of silver.

Agreement: Thomas Verlay and Joan acknowledge the aforesaid advowson and tenements with appurtenances except a third part of two parts of the tenements is the right of the same Oliver which the same Oliver and Thomas Wyngefeld have of the gift of said Thomas Verlay and Joan his wife and for this acknowledgement the same Oliver and Thomas Wyngefeld grant the aforesaid Thomas de Verlay and Joan his wife the aforesaid advowson and tenements with appurtenances for the life of Thomas de Verlay and Joan his wife. And after the decease of same Thomas and Joan his wife the advowsons and tenements with appurtenances are to remain wholly to John Wyngefeld and Alianor his wife and heirs of the body of the same John and Alianore to have and hold in perpetuity. And if the same John and Alianor die without heirs of their body then after the decease of John and Alianore the aforesaid advowsons and tenements with appurtenances are to remain to Joan the daughter of Robert de Glaunuyle and her heirs to have and hold in perpetuity.

Property: one messuage, one mill, two hundred and twenty acres of land, six acres of meadows, four acres of pasture, and sixteen shillings rent with appurtenances in Fornham All Saints, Westle, Hemegrave and Flempton.
Action: Plea of Covenant
Agreement: Richard has acknowledged that the aforesaid tenements with appurtenances to be the right of the same Richard Skyn, as that which he has of the gift of said Richard Brewosa and for this acknowledgement, fine and agreement Richard Skyn grants the aforesaid Richard de Brewosa and Joan his wife said tenements with appurtenances to hold of the chief lords in perpetuity.

Agreement: Richard has acknowledged the manor, fair and market, with appurtenances and advowsons to be the right of the same Robert and Thomas which they have of the gift of said Richard and for this acknowledgement the same Robert and Thomas grant Richard the manor, fair and market, with appurtenances and advowsons for the life of Richard. And after the decease of said Richard the manor fair and market with apurtenances and advowsons are to remain wholly to John Wynewyk clerk David Wollore clerk John Wengefeld knight and Gilbert Debenham and the heirs of the same John Wengefeld to hold of the chief lord of the fee in perpetuity.
Note: *Walter Rye in his book Suffolk Feet of Fine transcribes him as a chaplain. However, the part of the parchment which refers to this is damaged and indeciperable. As such, I do believe he is in error. If anything the missing word was probably "chivalier" instead of "cappellanum". This is consistent with other known facts concerning Richard de Breouse [e.g. see C25/1/221 No. 40].

Agreement: Richard has acknowledged the aforesaid manor with appurtenances to be the right of this John Wengefeld and has granted to him and his heirs that said manor with appurtenances which Katerina who was the wife of Richard the son of the aforesaid Richard has held for the term of her life of the heirs of the said Richard, and after the death of Katrina it ought to return to the aforesaid Richard Breouse and his heirs. After the death of Katrina the said manor with appurtenances are to remain wholly to said John de WyneWyke, David, John de Wengefeld, Thomas and Gilbert and heirs of the same John Wengefeld to hold of the chief lord of that fee by service in perpetuity.
For this: John, David, John, Thomas give Richard 100 marks of silver.

Agreement: John has acknowledged the aforesaid manors with appurtenances to be the right of [damaged] David and for this acknowledgement the same David and Gilbert grant John and Alianor and their heirs the aforesaid manor of Stradebrok with appurtenances which is held by Richard de Brewouse knight for the term of his life as well as the aforesaid manor of Wyngefeld with appurtenances which is held by Katrina who was the wife of Richard de Brewosa junior for the term of her life. Wherein the manor of Wyngefeld with appurtenances after the death of the said Katrina should remain to Richard for the term of his life if the aforesaid Richard outlives the same Katrina, and the said manor of Stradbrok with appurtenances after the death of said Richard and the said manor of Wyngefeld with appurtenances after the death of Richard and Katrina ought to revert to David and Gilbert and the heirs of David, and by this grant is to remain wholly to John and Alianor and heirs male of the bodies of the same John and Alianor in perpetuity, and if the said John and Alianor die without male heirs of their body then after the decease of John and Alianor the manors with appurtenances are to remain wholly to Katrina the wife of Michael de la Pole knight and heirs of the same Michael procreated of the body of Katrina to hold in perpetuity, and if the said Katrina wife of Michael dies without heirs procreated of said Michael then after the death of the same Katrina the aforesaid manors are to remain to the heirs procreated of the body of the aforesaid John to hold in perpetuity, and if there are no heirs procreated of the body of said John the aforesaid manors with appurtenances are to remain wholly to Thomas Wyngefeld brother of said John and heirs procreated of his body to hold in perpetuity and if the same Thomas dies without heirs procreated of his body then after the death of the same Thomas the manors with appurtenances are to remain wholly to William de Wyngefeld and heirs procreated of his body to hold in perpetuity, and if the said William is to die without heirs procreated of his body, then after the decease of said William the said manors and appurtenances are to remain wholly to the right heirs of the said John to hold in perpetuity.

Property: the manor of Wyngefeldhalle in Wyngefeld with appurtenances
Action: Plea of covenant
Agreement: Katerina has granted on her part the aforesaid manor with appurtenances which Michael de la Pole has held until the feast of Michaelmas next coming and from that feast up to the end of a term of five years next coming by the demise of Katrina and wherein after the said term it should [revert] to Katrina, and by this grant after the aforesaid term it is to remain wholly to said John, John, John, Walter, Edmund, Stephen, Richard and John and the heirs of the same John Bacoun to hold of the chief lord of that fee by service for the life of Katherine.
For this: John, John, John, Walter, Edmund, Stephen, Richard and John give the said Katherine 100 marks of silver.
